It's no secret. Humans are social animals. We crave togetherness and mutual support. That's why coworking has been growing so rapidly around the world. As the "gig economy" began to explode in the late 2000s - isolation of many freelancers and small businesses also grew in parallel. Thanks to the now 14,000 coworking spaces around the world, remote employees, freelancers, entrepreneurs and even large organizations now work independently, together.

While there have been several Harvard Business Review articles about the coworking phenomenon over the past decade, a new study highlights "How Coworking Spaces Affect Employees’ Professional Identities."

"Over the past several years, we have studied how these environments impact individual workers, taking into account the amenities, branding, aesthetics, and unique cultures created from diverse people and companies working together under one roof. We have found that workers benefit from coworking spaces more than traditional offices. They experience greater levels of flexibility and thriving (defined as vitality and learning at work), a greater ability to network, as well as a stronger sense of community."

We couldn't agree more! If you haven't experienced coworking, come check out Mojo. We are a community of about 70 members in downtown Asheville who enjoy the passion, professionalism and personal energy that comes with a coworking space.
